A portrait of Elias Boudinot (1740-1818) of Philadelphia, who was commissary for prisoners of war in the Revolution, served in Continental Congress and in the first three United States Congresses, and was an early director of the United States Mint. The portrait was executed by the father-and-son Philadelphia portrait artists and printmakers Max Rosenthal (1833-1918) and Albert Rosenthal (1863-1939), after the 1817 portrait by Thomas Sully.
